Antonio Gino, norwegischer Komponist italienischer Herkunft, * Triest 18. 1. 1922; studierte in Triest, London und bei B. Bartók in Bloomington (Indiana); wurde bekannt durch die Oper »The smile at the foot of the ladder« (1965, deutsch »Das Lächeln am Fuße der Leiter«; Libretto nach H. Miller); schrieb ferner u. a. das Ballett »Pinocchio« (1969), die Opern »Fräulein Julie« (1975; Libretto nach A. Strindberg; Neufassung 1984), »Gespenster« (1981; Libretto nach H. Ibsen), »Macbeth« (1990), Orchesterwerke, Kammer- und Klaviermusik sowie Chorwerke.
